Vectron International Reaffirms Commitment to Growing Global Sensor Market

Sensors & Advanced Packaging Business Unit Renamed SenGenuity, Focused on Continued Delivery of Innovative Solutions to Market

HUDSON, NH Vectron International, a leader in the design, manufacture and marketing of Frequency Control, Sensor, and Hybrid Product solutions, today announced that it will change the name of its Sensors & Advanced Packaging (SAP) business unit to SenGenuity. The move represents Vectron's continued commitment to driving change and innovation in the $50 billion (USD) global sensor market through the delivery of ground-breaking acoustic wave sensor technology.

"It has always been our business strategy to strengthen our leadership position in the frequency control market while also diversifying into innovative new growth markets such as sensors," said Rick Hajec, president, Vectron International. "The early success of our SAP business has prompted us to now re-brand the division and continue to sharpen our focus. We are confident that our continued commitment to quality and excellence coupled with our first mover advantage and next generation technology has us best positioned to be the defacto leader in the space."

SenGenuity offers the ViSmart™ viscosity sensor, which is designed to provide instantaneous sample and/or continuous, real-time, in-process viscosity measurements for embedded, in-line environments requiring high resolution and accuracy in low- to mid-range viscosity fluids. The ViSmart™ viscosity sensor uses robust and reliable semiconductor technology, has no moving parts, and is sealed for complete immersion. It is unaffected by vibration or flow conditions, does not need field calibration and is packaged in a very portable, lightweight size. The ViSmart™ sensor measures a wide range of viscosity of fluid and is rated for temperatures up to 125 degrees Celsius in a threaded bolt package for quick installation, with custom options and configurations available for specific industry applications and process requirements.

"Over the past 18 months Vectron's SAP group has made significant progress in laying the groundwork for a compelling business addressing myriad applications in the worldwide sensing market space," said Tom Cunneen, vice president and general manager, SenGenuity. "We are pleased with our growth to date and encouraged by the continued expansion of the marketplace. As a result, we felt it an opportune time to further refine our branding to more closely represent the value proposition of our business- commitment to innovative and ingenious solutions for sensor applications."

The ViSmart™ model series can be connected to any computer or control platform via the standard protocols and the forthcoming CANBUS and 4-20 mA options to provide a continuous audit trail, which can help process monitoring markets to control operating costs and maintain quality standards. Additionally, SenGenuity's Starter Kit bench-top viscometer data station enables customers to acquire multiple channels of continuous viscosity and temperature data.

In January 2007, Vectron acquired BiODE, Inc., a designer and manufacturer of fluid viscosity sensors and viscometer readers, and integrated it into its SAP business unit. SenGenuity will continue to operate out of its Hudson, New Hampshire headquarters as well as its high-tech labs, located in Westbrook, Maine.
