Vectron International Announces C-TPAT Validation

U.S. Customs and Border Protection Validates Vectron as a Certified Partner in the Worldwide Supply Chain Security Initiative

HUDSON, NH - Vectron International, a leader in the design, manufacture and marketing of Frequency Control, Sensor, and Hybrid Product solutions, today announced that it has successfully passed the on-site validation audits conducted by the U.S. Customs team at its U.S. and Far East (Singapore) sites. Previously Vectron had been certified to be a member of the Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) program by the U.S. Customs & Border Protection (CBP) agency of the Department of Homeland Security. As a partner, Vectron is committed to global supply chain security and has agreed to make a vital contribution to help secure the United States’ borders and ensure the continued free flow of international trade.

Established in 2001, C-TPAT is the first worldwide initiative in which participating organizations fully cooperate with U.S. Customs to establish acceptable security practices throughout their entire supply chain operations. Eligible companies must submit a detailed application and conduct a comprehensive self-assessment of their supply chain security procedures using the C-TPAT guidelines developed by the CBP and the community for each specific trade category. Subsequently, an on-site validation audit is conducted by the C-TPAT team to verify that all the required security initiatives are in place and have been implemented effectively. The C-TPAT team completed the validation process in 2009 by on-site visits at Vectron’s key facilities in Hudson, NH, and the logistics warehouse based in Singapore, a primary source of imports.

"Obtaining C-TPAT certification validates that our internal management processes and facilities are efficient, secure and compliant,” said Ram Arvikar, Director Global Quality & Compliance, Vectron International. “Completing the stringent processes to achieve C-TPAT certification demonstrates our ongoing commitment to providing customers, now and in the future, with not only the industry’s most innovative solutions but also the highest quality service and security measures available."

Participation in the program provides companies with the assurance of a safe, secure and expeditious supply chain, benefiting their employees, internal operations, suppliers and customers. C-TPAT members benefit directly by reducing the number of physical inspections and documentation reviews when crossing borders, helping to dramatically decrease the time required when passing through customs. Obtaining C-TPAT certification offers businesses an opportunity to take an active role in improving national security.

C-TPAT is a voluntary supply chain security program led by CBP and focused on improving the security of private companies’ supply chains with respect to terrorism. C-TPAT recognizes that Customs can provide the highest level of security only through close cooperation with the ultimate owners of the supply chain— importers, carriers, brokers, warehouse operators and manufacturers. Through this initiative, Customs invites businesses to ensure the integrity of their security practices and communicate their security guidelines to their business partners within the supply chain.
