Vectron International Unveils New Frequency Control and Viscosity Sensor Solutions at electronica 2008

Latest Innovations Demonstrate Continued Investment in R&D, Market Leadership in Telecommunications, Military & Space, Industrial, and Long-term Commitment to Global Customers

MUNICH, GERMANY — Vectron International, a leader in the design, manufacture and marketing of Frequency Control, Sensor, and Hybrid Product solutions, today announced a wide range of new, leading edge frequency control and viscosity sensor products for the telecommunications, data communications, wireless, wireline, medical, military & space, and test equipment markets at electronica 2008, November 11 to 14, Hall B5, Booth 237. The new products and enhancements further highlight Vectron's ability to drive innovation, performance and reliability and help customers stay ahead of the curve now and in the future.

"Current financial and economic conditions in the U.S. and abroad are requiring companies across all industries, including telecommunications, military & space and industrial, to closely evaluate their vendors and partners to ensure they will be able to provide innovation and service for the long-term," said Rick Hajec, president, Vectron International. "At Vectron, we have been committed to investing a healthy percentage of revenue in R&D and working with customers to bring to market leading-edge technologies and solutions for more than 50 years. As evidenced by the range of new products being showcased at electronica 2008, as well as our financial strength, market expertise, and state-of-the-art facilities and resources, we are positioned to be the preferred technology provider and partner of choice now and well into the years to come."

New solutions being showcased include Vectron's PX-369 packaged crystal oscillator (PXO) and TX-309 temperature compensated crystal oscillator (TCXO) product families, and enhancements to its breakthrough EX-209 evacuated miniature crystal oscillator (EMXO) offering. These latest solutions and enhancements for high-reliability space applications help leading satellite manufacturers and OEMs drive down payload costs.

Vectron is also announcing its latest oven controlled crystal oscillator (OCXO) innovations. The new OX-500 is the smallest hermetically sealed OCXO on the market and ideal for use in a range of military, wireline, wireless and test & measurement applications. At just 9x14 mm, the OX-500 series enables design engineers to realize the benefits of a smaller footprint without sacrificing the stability and performance they have come to expect from Vectron's OCXOs. For applications that require high stability but lower shock, vibration and washability, Vectron also introduced the OX-501 OCXO, a SMD 9x14 mm OCXO that provides the full performance of an OCXO with the size of a standard temperature-controlled crystal oscillator (TCXO), making it ideal for use in base stations, specifically the Femto base station.

SenGenuity, the Sensors division of Vectron, announced the expansion of its ViSmart™ family of viscosity sensors. New products include: the ViSmart high shear extended range sensor, which is the first solid-state sensor available for viscosity measurements in thick and viscous fluids; an IP67-rated threaded bolt ViSmart sensor; and the FluidTrackr™ Handheld Datalogger. SenGenuity also announced that it will offer an end-to-end wireless temperature sensing solution, which includes SAW-based passive temperature sensors produced by SenGenuity/Vectron, and a wireless interrogation system based on technology licensed from its partner, Transense Technologies.

Additional product announcements being made at the show include:
  • The Double Oven DX-170. At half the size of its predecessor, the DX-170 requires less power and offers the same high stability required for telecom and military applications in a 28x36x19 mm package. The reduced size saves space for additional components in base stations and expands the variety of applications possible for military customers.
  • The fifth-generation VS-705 single rate voltage-controlled SAW oscillator (VCSO). The latest version of Vectron's most popular SAW oscillator product offers customers additional features and functionality, making it the most versatile and feature rich VCSO available.
  • Three new FR4-based frequency control products designed to allow customers to reduce design complexity and costs. Vectron's new VX-501 dual voltage controlled crystal oscillator (VCXO) offers the tightest phase noise available in a 5x7 mm package; the FX-701 frequency translator (FX) is the smallest package available on the market; and the TX-702 high frequency Stratum 3 temperature controlled crystal oscillator (TCXO) provides the highest frequency capabilities available in a 5x7 mm package.
